What we've done so far

Despite all my travels, this was the first time I (C. P. Bowyer) experienced "culture shock" - also experienced on the return home, crying for 3 days over the luxury of running water, new homes; paved roads.

When friends heard the stories and saw the pictures, many jumped to send tons of clothing, hygiene items, toys & school supplies twice a year, for many years.
I was invited to give presentations to elementary schools and church groups who happily sent donations. A local Wal-Mart also shipped 10 large boxes of goods and paid for the shipping.

Now - to really improve lives - our dream is to put running water into homes there, - but we need your help too!
What a burden they carry, going outside to haul water in, heating it to wash clothes, sponge bathe, cook, and more. I witnessed 2 school teachers go to work, come home to prepare lessons, feed chickens and a pig, harvest gardens, can vegetables, and - haul in bucket after bucket of water for every task!

This is commonplace in almost every home there.
We can help alleviate this poverty.
They would then have time & energy to continue to build their new democracy, their goal of a better life for their children.
