Our volunteer in Chernivtsi located a boarding house of over 200 refugees/internally displaced families in dire need. Many are elderly.
Here are her reports of their conditions, needs and a few photos of purchases made with your donations:
"It
was emphasized that toilet paper, shampoos, etc. are running out very
quickly. Well, diapers for older people are also needed.
Sorry for the quality of individual photos. Elderly people live there in
not very good conditions, 4-6 people in wards, they are so tortured.."
"In addition to household chemicals and hygiene products, there are not enough mops, brooms, and as far as I understand, most of the products are for general use. For example, they put soap, shampoo, shower gel, etc. in the shower room (the shower is common for everyone) and change it after finishing. But as many people live there, everything ends quickly.
They also asked for stationery. Especially for notebooks, pencils and pens for children who will enter the first grade. But, unfortunately, this is also expensive for us.
All the money you send will be used for these people! Therefore, even if it is not possible to buy a lot of everything, they will still be happy for any help!"
We plan to continue to replenish their hygiene items, cleaning products and diapers as long as we receive donations that enable us to aid them for the coming months!
