2014 Ukraine is in Crisis - and it has been for a long time!

Roosevelt observed that capitalism is unequally divided riches while socialism is equally divided poverty.

Poverty is one of the great legacies that Ukraine struggles to overcome.

The government treasury is empty.  Billions recently stolen from the people.

     Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not? Mor 8:39

     I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man according to that which he hath, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally, according to their wants.  Mos 4:26

See the big tub hanging from the front of this house? Used to bathe 6 children and do their wash, after hauling water from another yard! This is very typical poverty seen throughout Western Ukraine, in hundreds of towns and villages:

Many poor parents must give up their children to overcrowded orphanages.

    And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday Isaiah 58:10

    Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.  Job 22:7

     For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in.  Matthew 25:35
