Your help is urgently needed.
I just received this today - a fellow I met while in Ukraine is about to have his leg amputated, the result of a wound. The course of treatment will cost $50 per day for six months. This is well beyond the capacity of this poor family, not to mention that this senior couple who survives by growing their own food will now face many hardships and difficult days moving forward. If you are able to help, please donate now, either through Chimp, Canada Helps, by cheque to S.O.S. Ukraine mailed to 44 Sunmeadows Place, S.E., Calgary, AB T2X 3H3 or through email bank transfer. His wife wrote this week to say the following:
"Mikhail very seriously ill in the hospital he has sugar in the blood. Has a wound on his leg that does not heal, black, it is necessary to cut off part of the leg. We have spent a lot of money on this. Medications are very expensive and the treatment will be very long it can be six months. I'm asking you Carollyne if you could help us with the money. We will not be able to do our best. Every day the treatment course is 1000 hryvnias. ($50). If you can help, then we will be very grateful. Sincerely, Lesya."
This is tragic and this couple needs help; they desperately need our help.
