Here's the DIfference You Make!

Last week, we received a thank you from a recipient of one of the wells that we built on a private property in a small village in western Ukraine.

The woman stated how she thanks us every day (that is you, donors) when she uses her well. She used to walk to a neighbor's home for water and it required going downhill in snow, ice, rain, etc. with buckets to fill. She said more than once she fell on the hill due to the weather.

When someone says "it's a drop in a bucket" to help a country with as many problems as Ukraine" - well, that lady and her buckets sure feel the difference, and so would you if you were in her shoes.
You would love to be that one "starfish who is rescued and thrown back into the proverbial sea".

Another recipient of our help wrote to say that they used to have several hands to help in the field in planting and harvesting - the senior parents, themselves and a daughter. Over time, the senior father died, the senior mother got cancer twice, the husband lost his usual day job and had to work full-time nights at a lesser profession, and the daughter grew up, married and lives an hour's drive away. That left one woman who worked full time and has her own health issues to handle an impossible load.

Thanks to your donations, they now own a small cultivator! What a huge difference for this family. One more burdensome, time-consuming task can now be alleviated a lot more quickly with the use of their new cultivator. Thank you!

The children you have sponsored over the past years have received medicines, baby formula, food and clothing that would never have been possible.

Families that now have wells, running water, access to medical treatments and more are all very grateful. Ukraine is a country where there is still a lot of shoulder checking and suspicion, and many of them do not like to have photos taken and put online. We apologize and hope you will enjoy the many other photos posted earlier in this blog and of those who are willing to be photographed.

Finally - Easter greetings from our agent in Ukraine:

Dear Canadian friends,
I'm sending you Easter greetings from my faraway country-Ukraine. You have kind hearts helping people in my country. Thank you ever so much for everything you do. May this Easter Sunday be filled with blessings of love, peace, happiness. Best wishes for Easter and I hope that everything will turn out wonderful and great for you and your families. May the Lord continue to protect, bless and shower you with His love. Happy Easter!
Sincerely,
Halyna Korol, Ukraine.
